A beautiful kitchen, in a beautiful home – tucked away in an extremely scenic location near the village of Ombersley, Worcestershire. This lovely handmade kitchen was a little tired and in need of a repaint… being made from Tulip Wood, my clients were happy with how the kitchen “worked”, and the build quality; they didn’t need to replace it, so repaint it!
I’m afraid that I don’t have any photographs of how it looked before I worked my magic upon it… it was painted in Farrow & Ball’s “Off White” colour. Following discussions we decided to move a little greyer and went for the equivelant to Little Greene Paint Company’s “French Grey Pale” for the main units and the equivelant of “French Grey Dark” for the overmantel, both expertly (and accurately) mixed and supplied by my preferred paint supplier – Holman Specialist Paints – into Tikkurila bases – Otex and Helmi.
My usual routine of degreasing and dust-free sanding went without hitch – all surfaces to be painted was cleaned with Fluxaf Pro Clean to leave it completely grease free, followed by a light sand with 320 grade Mirka Abranet on my Festool RTS400 sander and Festool CTL mini extractor.
Tikkurila paints were then applied with my beloved *FOX paintbrush & roller kit… the image above shows the finish that was achieved.
