Hand Painted Kitchen – Welshpool, Mid Wales

This was a lovely project to work upon – my client contacted me after finding me on a Google search – via http://www.traditionalpainter.com and then also followed me on FaceBook (Link to my FB page here). Although this out of my usual working area of the West Midlands, I was still able to commute with ease.

If you would like a quotation from me, it’s easy; I ask for a set of photographs and a count of doors, drawers and any notable features, such as cooker hoods or plate racks etc. Once I have this information, I am able to produce an accurate all inclusive quotation… If you are unsure about your choice of colour or have any questions or queries, I’m also happy to visit your home to discuss options; I have been undertaking Kitchen and Furniture Painting for more years than I care to remember, this in fact, project number 202 of my Hand Painted Kitchen career!!!

I’m extremely proud to be a Hand Painted Kitchen Specialist and have the full backing of Traditional Painter, a Network of Hand Painted Kitchen Specialist across all of the United Kingdom and Ireland, openly sharing information and Best Practice to the Industry and the Homeowner.

This particular project was set in a small rural village on the outskirts of Welshpool – the family were delightful and I was welcomed wholeheartedly into their home (thank you!!!). On day one I was shown the new handles that they would like to be fitted and I got to work “sheeting up” – by this I mean covering all work surfaces and flooring with top quality lining paper and polythene (where necessary).

All surfaces to receive paint were thoroughly degreased and prepared with my “dust-freesanding system (99.9% dust extraction) and the first coats of the High Adhesion Sealer Primer  – Pegaprim Isofix were applied.

Top coats of the fabulous Tikkurila Feelings Furniture Paint supplied by Holman Specialist Paints were applied to produce a beautiful flawless sheen finish. Door furniture was replaced, protection taken up and the project was finished.

Above is a photograph supplied by my clients to show how the Kitchen looked before Hand Painting

This a photograph from the same position to show how it now looks.

I was extremely sad to wave goodbye to this family and part of the World – I love working in Wales and have always been fortunate enough to receive a very warm welcome! My clients were over-the-moon with their “new” kitchen and were kind enough to send me this testimonial:

“Having researched the Internet, I discovered Martin Guest and was delighted that he was happy to travel to Mid Wales to paint my rather dreary oak kitchen.

From the moment he arrived at my home I felt as though I had known him for years and had no qualms handing over door keys when I was out.

Martin is a true professional. The attention to detail being second to none. The preparatory work was carried out meticulously and the end result perfect.

I now have the kitchen I always wanted, and I smile every time I walk into it.”
